Six-Goal Fourth Quarter Lifts No. 2 Richmond Past No. 13 Georgetown

Richmond, Va. — In a back-and-forth slugfest that went down to the final quarter, Richmond delivered the decisive punch when it mattered most. Locked in an even battle for three quarters, the No. 2 Spiders broke an 8–8 tie entering the fourth by outscoring No. 13 Georgetown 6–2 in the final period to secure a 14–10 victory Saturday at Robins Stadium, improving to 6–0 on the season and continuing the best start in program history. With the win, Richmond also earned its first home victory over Georgetown and second overall in the series, improved to 16 wins in its last 17 games, and picked up its fourth win in six games against a team ranked or receiving votes.
